Overview
Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Tactical Tracker training is designed to build foundational knowledge teams for individuals, soldiers, police officers, wildlife officers, and corrections officers. The training teaches how to observe and interpret ground sign, make deductions on subject quarry to build situational awareness, and develop the overall intelligence picture and early warning indicators of threats or intent. The Tactical Tracker program provides a framework for operating in a tracking team and the skills and ability to relay critical information to commanders. Graduates of this program will be able to assume key roles and responsibilities within a tactical tracking team. Training delivery combines traditional tracking knowledge from indigenous groups across the world with modern tactics.
Classroom training includes the theory of footprint dynamics, human behaviour indicators, threat & action indicators, and an introduction to tracking operations. Students will learn to record and relay critical information and conduct live tracking operations. Candidates will progress from pace tracking to short and long tracks over the course of training as skill level increases. Students will also be given explanations and tools to aid in the dissemination of learned skills to other personnel in their home units or organizations.
