Overview
An ROC-A is required by operators of radiotelephone equipment on board aircraft and at aeronautical land (fixed and mobile) radio stations using aeronautical VHF frequencies. ROC-A provides candidates with instruction in regulations, operating procedures, emergency communications, radio terminology and phraseology, and equipment fundamentals. ROC-A is recommended for any field workers or emergency responders who may find themselves needing to use a VHF radio to communicate with aircraft or ground stations. The course concludes with candidates writing the Industry Canada exam, thereby allowing them to obtain their restricted operator’s license.
