Overview

Nous offrons maintenant nos cours de premiers soins en français!

Arctic Response Canada is pleased to announce we are now offering a Blended eLearning Intermediate First Aid and CPR-C/AED course. This training is CSA approved and results in the same certification as is received upon successful completion of a typical 2-day in-person course.

This course has two components

  • An online first aid theory component (typically 6-8 hours)
  • A classroom based first aid practical skills component (4-6 hours)

You must complete the online theory before you can participate in the classroom practical training session. We recommend that you aim to finish the online theory at least one week before your practical training session. The whole course, including the online and in-class components, must be completed within 30 days.

The online component covers all relevant information required before taking the practical training session. The program is divided into several modules consisting of background information, illustrations, videos, activities, case studies, procedures, a review and quiz. The user can log into and out of the course as many times as they please, each time picking up where they previously left off. The online course must be completed prior to attending the classroom component.

The classroom component will focus on practical skills and requires 4-6 hours to complete. This component must be completed within 30 days of completing the online component.

The First Aid programs taught by Arctic Response meet or exceed national, territorial and provincial standards and incorporate the most recent  2010 Heart and Stroke CPR Guidelines.  Additionally, Arctic Response sits on the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Technical Committee currently developing CSA standards for Workplace First Aid.

Important Note: Intermediate First Aid and CPR training meets national, territorial and provincial standards. Intermediate First Aid with CPR has been approved by the WSCC for NWT and NU to satisfy the January 1, 2021 requirements for the Intermediate First Aid Attendant.
